Fishermen wait in line at the cannery on good days for up to three hours. The stakes rise when fishermen try to be the first on and off the beach to fish a tide twice; they have to drive between the tide and the bluff or so far out into the beach that the trucks would get stuck on the slippery clay or in the deep sand.
